Now in its second year, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Ambassador Ivan Pomaleu, the Regulators Forum will convene leaders from regulatory bodies, government agencies, industry stakeholders, and development partners to identify and address key regulatory challenges impacting investment and economic growth in Papua New Guinea.

The expected outcome from this forum is for both regulators and players in the resources & energy sector, as well as the other sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure, financial, agricultural, and fisheries industries to engage in meaningful dialogue about challenges, impediments, and potential solutions that will inform an ease of doing business checklist that the National Government will take away to consider and address in 2026.

PNG CORE President Anthony Smaré said the PNG Regulators Forum is an important segment of the PNGIW25 where leaders in the regulatory space share insights and have conversations that address key regulatory challenges impacting existing and new investments for the country.
“This forum is not just about dialogue—it’s about action. We want to ensure that the outcomes from these discussions translate into real, measurable improvements in how business is conducted in PNG,” Mr Smaré said.
